We were craving some sushi last njght & so we decided to try out manoa's Waipuna Sushi. The customer service we received to who I believe was the owner was awesome. She was so helpful in helping us out with their popular sushi's & was so patient with us as we ordered away. Brandon's tempura Maki & the Nato Maki w/avocado was out of this world! The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because there were no restrooms around, but other than that, their sushi's are made with patience so don't expect to rush out of there if you order more than two plates. The wait was well worth it though. Only about 15 min wait but again well worth it!

Ok so some of my favorite places I don't like to review because I don't want anyone to know...
Waipuna sushi is a hidden gem in Manoa and I love their sushi. The portions and price is good. My favorite is the dynamite and the wilsons special.
They have a million different maki options and you can flip through their photo album menu. They have a long list of favorites too!
The downside of Waipuna is the parking is kind of bad...and they aren't fast. So if you are in a rush I suggest calling in your order at least 15min ahead of time.
Manoa has a number of options to eat at and you definitely should have Waipuna on your list. -

This place isn't as good as I remember it! Picked up some sushi here for lunch and was a little surprised at how expensive it has gotten. I got a dinner plate and it was like 13-14 bucks! A spicy tuna roll also about the same...hmm. Took about 10 minutes to make and I appreciate that it was made to order. The sushi was decent but again not as good as I remember. I like that the parking lot has been fixed and there is a lot more parking now!

I love my spicy ahi poke/sushi. One night my friend and I were in Mānoa so I decided to stop here and get their famous dynamite roll. It was moderately busy for a weekday around 8pm. There was on guy waiting on a table for his order and another who ordered before me.
It was $12 for my roll which is a little on the pricey side but it i was craving it enough to get it anyway. The service is a bit slow but only because I think they make it upon order which I stood in my opinion. I personally don't want sushi that's been sitting out all day. The wait was about 20 minutes though. The lady st the counter was nice.
It's a small establishment but the dynamite was yummy as expected. I will be coming back when I'm in Mānoa and craving spicy ahi. -

Located in Manoa.
It's a shop In a little shopping center right across from Serg's Mexican Kitchen / Mama Manoa.
Service is 10/10! Such friendly and kind, and hardworking ladies.
Ordered Dynamite Maki and Dynamite Crunch Roll. Wait time was a while but the ladies were sincerely apologetic and told us the dynamite crunch roll takes a while to make. It's fried so totally understandable. Plus too, people should be aware that there's only like two workers, of course it's going to take a while. And such sincere service, of course I can understand (:
The Maki alone was VERY FILLING. It is stuffed and loaded with Poke in and on top of it.
I tried to Dynamite Crunch Roll. My partner prefers that and loves it. I tried a bite but I like the dynamite maki so much, I went back to eating the rest of it. Teehee. But I liked the crunch and the texture. It definitely had flavor. I had one piece of that and could tell I'd be stuffed on that alone.
Would I be back? Sure. That dynamite maki will definitely be my new go to for sushi. Yummy and very filling.
